Through the nine month program, I was able to feed my desire to have a deeper relationship with God. The studies were provided, but everything was self driven. It was up to me to pull out my Bible and do the digging. Each day I saw myself slowly transforming into the woman I longed to be, the woman I was predestined to be. I saw this through my relationship with my husband, my daughter, family, and even at work.
The scriptures came alive more and more for me through each study session. I began to notice how, He is alive in me. He is living through me! This program has truly been life changing and I am grateful that Ms. Charita took a step of faith and is continuously allowing the Lord to use her to bring women like myself closer to Him.
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with your whole heart.”

This program was the toughest 9 months of my life! However, I am forever grateful for it! It allowed me to get to know God deeper and showed me so many things, but especially my relationship with other people in my life and how those relationships were standing in the way of me getting to know and trust in God. These other relationships were costing me the time I needed to get to know God, His Word and His purpose for my life. Once I learned through this program how to dive deeper into God’s Word, I saw things and people (specifically myself) differently. I saw how much I allowed myself to wear the hero cape and attempt to play savior to those around me when I needed saving myself! I am no one’s savior, but I can lead them to the Savior now through His Word. For that I am forever grateful to Mrs. Charita Howard for her program and the way she so selflessly pours herself and love for the Father into others. May God continue to bless her and her ministry so that it can continue to touch and change others!
I was at the most painful part in my life when God led me to The S.A.L.T. Connection program. Minister Charita actually came to my home and said “God told me to come and get you”. I appreciate Minister Charita and admire her passion to draw others closer to God. The program helped me push past the pain and realize the reason why I went through what I did. There was a purpose in my pain. The S.A.L.T. program helped me discover my purpose. Since completing the program, God has given me the opportunity to be used by Him and apply what I learned to pour into others.
Proverbs 3:5-6 states: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight”.

In 2020 while the world was fearful of COVID, God was in the middle of conforming me into a new person that would cause me to serve Him more. The S.A.L.T. Connection program taught me how to study God’s Word more and apply His Word in every area of my life. The ministry also encouraged me during my dad’s sickness and his death. Everyone needs encouragement and uplifting and I’m thankful to God for blessing me to be a part of a great ministry of believers.
The S.A.L.T. Connection has been a major inspiration to my life and Christian journey in our world. Not only is it a great resource for me, but it helped to teach me how to share God’s love and Word to those that I interact with every day. The S.A.L.T. Connection helped me to study God’s Word more in depth and at the same time increase my relationship with Him. My faith has increased and my knowledge and understanding of His Word caused me to become more obedient to what he has purposed for my life.
I’ve always had the yearning to understand the Bible on a deeper level and feel closer to Jesus but wasn’t sure how to go about developing that relationship. The S.A.L.T. Connection was my answer! The program is Bible based, very intimate, interactive, informative, eye opening and fun. I have grown in every area of my Christian walk, my faith and my spiritual understanding. All of my glory goes to God for placing me in the loving hearts and hands of The S.A.L.T. Connection. I have formed some unbreakable bonds with these women. The S.A.L.T. Connection has truly changed my life!!
The S.A.L.T. Connection has been a life changing experience for me. Transformation in my spiritual life and a closer walk with God. This class really helped me identify my purpose on my Christian journey. A renewed mind followed by a renewed heart, has opened doors in my life. I thank God daily for His vision of making The S.A.L.T. Connection a reality. He couldn’t have chosen a better person to lead this class, Minister Charita Howard. I came to this class not really knowing what my expectations should be, but after 9 months of pouring and standing on Jeremiah 29:11, I’m sure of what God has for me. I’m now standing on His promises and being obedient to the Holy Spirit. Thank You Lord for such a time as this!
When I first met Charita I was in a place of hurt and sadness. She began to mentor me and told me about the SALT program. I had been highly active inside the walls of the church most of my adult life. However, through the SALT class, I learned God can perform miracles outside of the four walls and that most of my ministry would be in my daily life such as work school friends, etc… I am grateful for the SALT program because my view of God has expanded through His Word. I’ve learned to see God in others and allow Him to use me in whatever way He chooses!
Charita Howard is a great woman of God and mentor. She has a big heart and truly cares about helping you become the best person that you can be. Charita is a good listener and is always there whenever you need her. She provides sound advice and always pushes you beyond what you may think is your limit. Charita is the type of mentor that believes in her mentees. She truly has pushed, challenged, and encouraged me to be a better wife, mother, and woman of God. I really appreciate everything she has done for me!!
When I came to New Life, my life was in shambles. I was functioning, but nowhere near where God wanted me to be functioning. I was dealing with depression, feelings of inadequacy where my children were concerned. I felt that I had let them down for most of their life. In noonday bible study one Wednesday, my Pastor posed a few questions; “Who gives us counsel?” “Are they wiser than us?” “Do they have a good track record?” Are they in tune with God?” Minister Charita is the first person I thought about when answering these questions to myself. So, at that very moment through the Holy Spirit, I decided that I would ask Minister Charita to be my mentor. She has continued to inspire, encourage and hold me accountable in my Christian walk. We meet sometimes for lunch or dinner to catch up on whats been going on in my life and how it may be affecting my relationship with God. She will give me assignments on how to study the Word. Minister Charita reminds me to take every decision, thought, and question to God before I take action. She always speaks of the importance of one on one prayer with GOD and the importance of having a one on one relationship with GOD.
I met Charita following some life changing events and right after re-dedicating my life to Christ. After a short time, I felt led of the Lord to ask her to allow me the privilege of being her mentee and she graciously accepted. She affirmed that the Lord had dealt with her concerning mentoring me. Needless to say through many trials and challenges, Charita has served as a mentor, counselor, confidant, encourager and listener. So today Mrs. Howard, I stand in awe of your Godliness, I’m amazed by your humanness and impressed with your compassion. Thank you for being a friend and an example of an Ambassador of Christ.
I don’t have enough words to say how wonderful it is to have someone walking through the Word with me! Having Charita as my mentor has indeed impacted my life so profoundly. I need and crave our time together because I know that when we do pause, for those few moments, I leave the hustle and bustle of a crazy, jam-packed life and I enter into a space that is supportive, patient, non-judgemental and sacred–I enter the place of the Lord.
